Therapeutic
Sports Massage
Sports massage is not limited to sportsmen and women but is also for anyone who needs a therapeutic or soft tissue massage whatever their physical level of fitness, age or gender.
Massage therapy was first introduced in China during the 2nd century B.C. and seems to be one of the oldest forms of treatment in the World. Furthermore, according to Geoffrey Goats (1994) the first mention of massage was found in the Nei Ching, the oldest medical work written before the death of Emperor Huang Ti in 2598 B.C.
Not long after China, massage was also found to be practised in India and Egypt. Even, Hippocrates, is widely regarded as the father of medicine and an acclaimed advocate for massage (Robert Noah Calvert, 2002).
Contrary to popular belief, massage should never be painful, however, some initial tenderness and discomfort may be felt.
Therapeutic Sports Massage at Lavender Therapy
At Lavender Therapy, you will be able to relax in a quiet environment. The aim of my Therapeutic Sports Massage is to go above and beyond. What does this mean?

It means that between your first consultation and the face-to-face assessment of your first massage, I will find the cause and the root of your discomfort and explain to you how I will deal with your issues. I will also give you advice on what you should do to reduce further discomfort in the future such as stretching or little changes you can add to your day-to-day routine at work or during your training routine.

In some instances, I am also able to use the cupping and Gua Sha in your treatment. These are both are ancient Chinese medicine techniques that may help relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and improve circulation. These will be discussed before use.
You might need a follow-up or a maintenance appointment, but I will not prescribe unnecessary treatment to get more money from you!
